Bought this because we wanted a waffle maker that was dishwasher safe. The inserts are easy to remove and wash in dishwasher. Only issue is the built in timer. Seems to start when it wants to. Would be nice to have a start button for the timer.

This things works well, but once it’s up to temp or your waffles are done, the beeper sounds like you should evacuate your house.
Also the handle gets too hot and should be better insulated from the heat, but it doesn’t prevent use. 4 stars might be a touch generous, but close enough.

This was a great waffle maker. Unfortunately, exactly 1 month after owning it – making waffles once a week – the waffle maker continuously beeps when plugged in. I don’t recommend this waffle maker.
*update* after contacting the manufacturer they sent me a shipping label to return the item. Unfortunately, the shipping label had the wrong address for shipping to them and the package was returned to me. So frustrating. After contacting me they assured me that their address is correct on the shipping label but after visiting Canada post they clearly showed me the address does not exist. Did I say frustrating?

Works great. I am making my waffles from Einkorn home ground flour. Look up Einkorn Wheat (the most ancient wheat, not a hybrid. Good if you have troubles with wheat gluten, or just want great tasty morning nutrition.
Feel free to tweak this as I am still experimenting with the mix…
3 cups organic Einkorn flour
1/4 cup cold pressed organic olive oil (Kirkland)
1/4 cup organic honey
1 tsp ancient sea salt
1-1/2 tbsp baking powder
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites
2 tsp cinnamon
– Oat milk
Mix dry ingredients, mix wet ingredients (except egg whites) adding wet to dry and adding oat milk until a thick batter is made. Whip egg whites well and fold into batter just before putting into waffle iron. Make sure waffle iron is back up to temp before each batch.

My daughter really likes it. I thought it was great that the plates could go into the dishwasher.

I’ve gone through a few waffle makers over the years. I never felt any of them were truly clean despite lots of paper towels and scrubbing. Finally, I spent a few extra bucks and got one with removable plates. Why didn’t I do this sooner? This makes great waffles. Even better, all I have to do is pop the plates in the dishwasher for a through cleaning. So easy!

The plates pop out easy for quick cleaning and it is pretty mess free if you use cooking spray.

This waffle iron is fantastic- I am a food blogger who makes liege waffles and regular waffles frequently and wanted a Belgian waffle maker that made a few at a time, had removable plates, and cooks evenly. The waffle iron has exceeded my expectations in every way. I wash the plates in the dishwasher, it has the most even cook across all four waffles and cooks my liege waffles in about 4 minutes with 4 in there. It’s the best waffle iron I’ve ever used hands down!

So reviews seem to be mixed on this. As much pro reviews as user reviews. I was shopping for something bit more pricey initially (the Breville ones at 300$). I finally decided to go with this given I’m not the type to make waffles every day. First off, let’s be honest, this is a reasonably priced unit and hence, yes, heating and cooking times might be a bit longer. But it makes 4 decent size waffles. So here we go:
– if you use a homemade batter recipe, 2-3 waffles will be plentiful per person. If you’re making for a big group, simple, keep them warm in a 200 degree oven or make a few days ahead, freeze and pop in the toaster or oven at 350. (Try the recipes from New York Times or Serious Eats among others)
– if saving, put them on a cooling rack between batches
– yes, I do use a light flavoured – eg. Canola – spray oil despite being nonstick, this will guarantee the longevity of the nonstick. This being said, make sure your spray contains no propellants or soy lecithin, this is what degrades the nonstick over time. No, it does not make my waffles gummy, chewy or cakey, it’s all in the cooking time…
– i preheat and cook at the max setting (5). It will beep the first time and the green led will light to indicate it is preheated. Spray and then I pour around 1/3 cup batter per square. Close it up. Let it cook. The led will turn green again and beep once the machine considers it’s cooked. Continue cooking, don’t peek, trust me! I let it go until there is only very little steam coming out along the sides, this will ensure they are nice and golden and crisp.
– waffles are supposed to be fun and a treat, so if you’re in a rush, this might not be the unit for you! Enjoy the moment people, what’s an extra few minutes…
– the plates can be removed for easy cleaning (which the Brevilles’ do not offer sadly) which was probably my most motivating choice along with size of waffle. The unit can also be stored standing for less space if this matters for you
I would definitely buy this unit again. And you know what, for people wanting to make big batches, you can buy 2 for the same price of just 1 of many brands, so just do that.
Enjoy.

I had been looking at this waffle maker for months before I finally ordered it. I LOVE how easy it is to clean since the grates come out. They say they are dishwasher safe but I have only hand-washed them. The waffle maker works great and cooks quickly. It makes 4 waffles at a time and they are good-sized (much bigger then my old waffle maker).
