Love this water bottle!I have had this bottle for a little over a year and just bought two more for my parents. Although it is glass, I have dropped the bottle multiple times and the outer rubber shell protects it. Water tastes better out of a glass bottle.

great bottleThings just taste better drinking from glass. The mouth on this bottle is large enough to get a good drink of liquid and also to fit ice cubes in if you like. The silicone protects the bottle but still allows you to see the contents. Easy to clean. Love the carry strap on the back to hook it to my back pack.

Not quite 20 oz as advertised, but solid nonethelessI’m not sure why Zulu can’t get their sizes correct; this item is definitely not 20 oz as advertised, it is much more like 18oz at the absolute maximum (I also own a Zulu Studio which is advertised as 28 oz but can easily fit 30 or more ounces).Bottle is fine. I highly prefer drinking from glass instead of metal/plastic (who doesn’t?), so I wanted a bottle that was close to 32 oz,. glass, not blatantly made in China by some IN ALL CAPS vendor, and have it be durable with a spring-top captured cap (instead of a screw-off cap or a straw, which defeats the desired goal of drinking from glass). The Studio bottle hit 90% of those parameters, but it did not allow for seeing how much fluid remained (the silicone sleeve hides what’s going on after the top 10% of the bottle’s height). I had hoped the Atlas would work, even though it’s smaller.Alas, the Atlas is so small that instead of the incorrectly-marketed 28 (really 30+) oz of the Studio, I had hoped the Atlas would be more like 22 or more ounces, and instead it’s actually smaller! Going from 30 to 18 ounces was a huge change. The lid closes about as securely as the larger bottle but does not open with as strong of a spring in the hinge. Also, all the cross-hatching paint on the exposed portions of the bottle only serve to obstruct what was ultimately the entire reason for me purchasing the bottle – seeing what’s in it and how much is left.I’ll keep the bottle – it’s a solid bottle, and great to drink from. Love that it is dishwasher safe (already been through once). The exterior is very ruggedized, as well… it would take a lot to break this thing. But it’s a bit small for me. I’ll probably use it from time to time, but my daily bottle will have to be the Studio.

Strong, Sturdy, Secure, & SafeI’ve been looking around for good ways to improve health and have discovered that the water we drink is commonly tainted with traces of heavy metals, toxins, pesticides, bacteria, residual personal care products, etc. So I started drinking more filtered water, which was great, but then I discovered that many times the plastic from water bottles slowly degraded and leeched chemicals/toxins into the drinking water (yes, even BPA-free plastics…). This led me to look for glass water bottles as it is the safest material to drink from (metal water bottles can be okay, but it depends on the metal as aluminum can leech quickly while stainless steel does a pretty good job…glass has the best bet though). Given that I had been drinking out of a plastic “BPA-free” water bottle for the past four years or so, I decided it was probably high time that I actually do something about it. Therefore I ordered this glass water bottle with fingers crossed. When I found this water bottle, I was concerned that it might be too small, too fragile, and too inconvenient or awkward for drinking, but all of those concerns were mitigated once it arrived. At 20oz, it was a smaller volume than I was used to, but that ended up being a hidden benefit as it keeps me active as I have to keep filling it up. After washing it out, there was no funny taste to the water (as I had been finding with my water bottle and even my steel water bottle), and the wide-mouth design for drinking is perfect for me to chug the whole container quickly while filling it up so that I can drink as fast or slow as I want. Its sleek, slim and stylish design definitely gave it an aesthetically-pleasing look which only helped my opinion of the product. The thin design fits super well in my hand and I find myself tossing it from hand to hand often as the ergonomic grip and silicone sleeve make it feel like it ‘sticks’ to my hand. The one main thing about this water bottle that I was concerned about was the durability, but the thick glass design and silicone sleeve has made this water bottle quite resistant to any damage due to sudden impact. I’ve dropped it a few times in the short while that I’ve had it and there have been no qualms regarding its strength or durability. Seems to be quite impervious to damage, although knowing me and my tendencies to overuse and wear out products quick, I might still find a way to break it haha…but I haven’t yet! I’ll update the post if anything like that ever happens.Flip-up lid is quite nice and makes a soft ‘pop’ sound each time it opens (likely due to the pressure difference from temperature) which sure is fun, but you can prevent that by slowly releasing the lid instead of letting it release quickly. Lock option is pretty airtight in my opinion and I’ve had no issues with it (and I’ve jostled it quite a bit while using the lock). Looks super sweet and does everything I need it to do.Overall, great product, great design, great usability. I imagine I’ll be using this for years to come, unless they come out with a 32oz or bigger version, as I have been known to drink over a gallon most days haha….many thanks for the team at Zulu for sharing this product!

Worthwhile glass drinking bottle!I like this glass drinking bottle. Its easy to grasp with my smallish hands and easy to hold on to due to the exterior rubber grip material. I’ve already tipped mine over on the pavement, and the rubber saved it. But obviously if you buy a glass bottle and drop it its going to break. No brainer! The top, if twisted on correctly, hasn’t leaked so far. The lock feature does work so it can not open without unlocking it. Its a nice looking bottle.I bought it to make small batches of sun tea when camping. It works fine for that.I would have given it 5 starts but the center area of the runner is thin and it kind of stretches instead of giving grip there. And you have to position the lid to the side in order to drink from it. Hope it lasts for a long time. I’d buy it again.

This is my main water bottleSo far I have had over the years about ten. One of the glass part’s broke. Another one the sleeve got a little loose. However, on 4 of my water bottles, it was the lid that failed, this was from years of usage. Through them falling etc. Over all I love these. I just wish there were replacement lids. The size of the bottle is great. The lid is perfect, the little lanyard makes it easy for people that have mobility issues. The satisfying click noise lets you know it is closed. They only leaked at all after dropping quite a few times. Honestly I love these bottles and really plan on getting more over the years. BUT I REALLY would like a way of replacing lids. That alone would make this the best thing on the market.

Nice quality bottle but…So, I bought this bottle to have a second bottle. Originally, I use a Camelbak Eddy and apart from it being a little fiddly to clean, I have had years of usage out of it.Now let’s get back to this bottle, the Zulu Atlas Glass Water Bottle.Firstly, it is a bit on the heavy side and I certainly wouldn’t want to go walking with it.Secondly, the silicone skin it has around it can be a bit of a pain because when I washed the bottle, it slid off really easily but after drying everything, it was a nightmare to get back on. I have been tempted to leave it off, but it just doesn’t look so nice. Finally, the smell. When I first bought it, I noticed it had a very strong smell, so as you do with new bottles, I washed it. It still smelled. I washed it again, left it soak in washing liquid overnight. IT STILL SMELLS!!!! Arghhhh!!!The smell has subsided a little after continuous washes, but it’s still there and it can be quite off-putting when you’re about to take a swig.Anyhow, overall, a sturdy bottle, a bit overpriced, but the smell… that’s just nasty.

Sturdy glass water bottle with easy to use flip lid.I looked for a glass bottle with a flip lid for a long time because it turns out they are not easy to come by. When I found this one I was reluctant to buy it as it was quite expensive for a water bottle but now l have it, I like it, plus I’ve just received a £3.33 refund on the import tax so that’s a little bonus. I wanted a flip lid as most glass water bottles have a screw lid and I often find these difficult to unscrew. Even my husband had trouble with the last two glass water bottles we had.The water tastes fresher and l find myself drinking more throughout the day. The lid seems sturdy and I like the locking feature in it. The little strap is strong and looks like it is good quality. It’s dishwashable and I just put the silicone cover in with it and it all seems fine. Two grumbles:1- it’s a bit heavy but I’m only carrying it around from class room to class room so it’s not a big issue. It would be too heavy to take out when running or hiking though but that’s not a problem for me as l don’t do either of those things!2 – the bottle opening is a bit wide and water has spilt down my face a few times, in front of my students! This bottle would be better with a drinking spout.

Tough and good qualityThis is either laziness or genius marketing as the packaging of this item was poor considering it was being shipped from outside of the uk. When it arrived in flimsy packaging I was expecting it to be broken but no, the flask was in one piece proving its strength and quality. This is heavy but I am tired of plastic ones staining and smelling so am looking forward to using this one. I like the locking lid although it took less than 2 minutes for my 2 year old to work out how to unlock it. I hope Zulu will create protein mixer balls small enough to fit this as this only has a 35mm opening where most mixer balls are 50mm.

The inside of the lid smells strongly of plastic off-gassing!I’d like to give this 5 stars as it is everything I wanted… non-toxic glass, brilliant flip top lid with lock, grippy cover, great colour, carry loop…. but inside the lid it smells awful of plastic! So when you flip the lid open the water smells horrible, which completely defeats the point of having a non-toxic glass bottle! Sooo disappointed.
