Start Your New Pump in a Clean Environment
Replacing the fuel pump strainer is required, but it is not enough if the tank is dirty. Make sure to inspect and clean the fuel tank as well.
Clogged filters are a leading cause of premature pump failure, so replace the fuel filter if it is not internal to the assembly. Internal filters are not serviced separately.

A Pressure Test is Not Enough to Condemn the Pump
High fuel pressure can often be attributed to a fuel pressure regulator issue or a restriction in the return line. The engine may run rich or fuel trims may be elevated.
Low fuel pressure can be caused by insufficient power or ground to the fuel pump or a malfunctioning fuel pressure regulator.
No pressure can be due to a faulty relay, fuse, wire harness, or oil pressure switch, tripped inertia switch, or dried test fluid.

What to Check Prior to Repair
The pump may not necessarily be the cause of fuel-related driveability problems or failures. So make sure to:
1. Confirm there is fuel in the fuel tank
2. Check fuel pressure
3. Check flow
4. Check fuel filter and pressure regulator
5. Perform a voltage drop test
6. Check electrical connections
7. Clean tank and inspect for debris

Worked and fit ok but if you’re upgrading a pump you should check the amp requirements as 18awg I think is only good for 15 amps. If you’re changing to a direct injection 255lph pump you’re close to the max. 18awg is too small for a DI 340lph pump.

Harness was exactly as described, I failed with the butt connectors trying to use a propane torch instead of a heat gun and turned it into a congealed mass. My failure, not the harness, one trip to the shop and being more careful in round 2 got it licked. Harness was over a foot long so even if you need to cut back the old one or fail like I did, you still got room to work with.

Received promptly, this harness will be needed when changing out the old fuel pumps on GM vehicles, as they have changed the electrical connection design on the new GM fuel pumps! I used this with my new Delphi FG0273 fuel pump I purchaesed here at amazon as well. Great OEM quality product! The reason for only 4 stars is this: Buyers beware: I was installing this on a 2002 Cadillac Escalade, this harness comes with several wiring color coded option instructions, and none of them were the right options for my vehicle when splicing this new connector onto the the cars wirring harness, and you had no way of knowing that untill the install was done, and the new fuel pump doesnt work, so if you are doing this install on this same vehicle or any GM vehicle for that matter, I would definetly make sure which terminals do what on the new fuel pump, and what wires on the vehicle need to go to those terminals before splicing this connector in! On my particular vehicle the color codeing on this harness connector were not the same as on my cars harness! Hope this helps!

Had to check the factory wiring diagram again the new fuel pump wiring diagram to install this. I temporarily used wire nuts to confirm my wiring before installing heat shrink butt connectors. Working great.

Had to buy to go with a newer style fuel pump that didn’t include this for my 1996 oldsmobile aurora 4.0 and it fit perfectly and I got it fast

Worked perfectly

Well built harness but the wiring code from the instructions didnt match wiring to the truck. I had to troubleshoot on my own to get it going.

perfect replacement
Needed this to replace a fuel pump in my Chevy blazer, truck had old style wiring harness, pump had new style electrical connection. this one spliced in perfectly, had directions for how to connect to my harness or different style blazer harness. Heat shrink butt connectors were also included making life so much easier.
