This adapter hose is very easy to use. One could leave it connected or only connect it when it is used which is what I do. Since it is very easy to connect it isn’t a problem to use it this way.
Initially there was a little bit of a strange flavor with the soda but after 3 or 4 bottles the flavor has gone away…. I suspect that it might have been something in the hose that needed to be removed by the first few uses. I am really enjoying using it now!! I highly recommend it if you want to end up paying less for CO2 in the long run!

Talk about easy…
One end goes on your CO2 tank’s standard CGA320 threaded valve. I recommend you tighten that with a wrench so that it’s snug. The other end threads into your SodaStream’s back where the CO2 cannister would normally go. Hand-tighten that end with the same pressure you would use to replace a SodaStream CO2 cannister.
The SodaStream already has a regulator built in so, open the valve on the tank and that’s it. Carbonate as usual. I was drinking a lot of club soda and exchanging empty SodaStream CO2 cannisters at Target…Then I did the math. After I use the equivalent of nine-ish SodaStream bottles I will have saved the same amount of money as I spent on a 5lb CO2 tank AND this hose. I should have done this a long time ago.
My SodaStream is a SOURCE. It takes the BLUE WRAPPED BOTTLES. It does NOT use the PINK bottle which I’m pretty sure has a different connector. If you have a different SodaStream Machine than mine, YMMV.
Oh! This product came with washer’s for both ends. I already had one on my tank and one in my SodaStream but hey, extras!
TLDR: If you’re using BLUE SodaStream CO2 cannisters, get this hose and a CO2 tank and start saving $$!!

This was delivered to me March 9th. I purchased a 5lb CO2 bottle from a local gas supplier. All good.
1) I asked for a ‘self-siphoning’ bottle, which they do not supply. If you don’t have a self-siphoning bottle, then use the tank inverted, with the valve down. The CO2 in the tank is a liquid, so it needs to flow out through the valve on the bottle. I am going to construct a stand out of PVC to hold it upside down.
2) The purchase included two nylon white washers, which are the same. Use one to connect the CGA320 Adapter Hose to the CO2 bottle. The other is a spare. Then tighten with a wrench. I asked the gas supplier about using teflon tape. He said this was a big no-no, he said if you have to use teflon tape with high pressure gas (3000psi), then something is wrong. I am not using teflon tape ANYWHERE, and have no leaks in the line. I tested with dawn detergent self-foaming soap. No gas bubbles. This is good. He also suggested securing the black gas line when first using. If it fails, it can seriously whip around and cause injuries, and prevent you from reaching the shutoff. Good advice.
3) Use a wrench to tighten the plastic fitting into the Sodastream. Make sure to tighten, but not tight enough to crack the plastic.
4) The SodaStream ‘puff button’ on the top actually causes a slow leak through the probe that goes into the SodaStream water bottle. See if yours does this. Put a SodaStream water bottle filled up to the line into the unit. Look for little tiny CO2 leaks into the water. If you have small bubble leaks without pushing the puffer button, then your SodaStream itself is causing a very slow leak. Lesson Learned: Close the valve on the CO2 bottle when done using. Even after closing the valve the residual pressure in the black line caused some bubbles.
5) I filled the SodaStream bottle several times to clear out any residual plastic taste. Actually I never noticed it at all, but did it anyway.
6) Use cold water, since this will absorb more CO2 then warm water.
7) It would be really helpful if the product came with some instructions.

Hi I bought this adapter because I changed my 14.5 oz CO2 for Kegco 5 lb. Aluminum Co2 Tank witch I refills for the chipper price but when you do that be sure the soda stream machine you have can work with the adapter it’s not for all of the soda stream machine’s my is working perfect, I loved 😍 and I refill my 5 lb. for $22.00 and I have gas for months, the soda stream cylinder 14.5 oz. you can make up to 60 L so with 5 lb. thank do the math you will be in heaven I bought this because in México we have an old soda fountain Cafe and every day after school I go there and I ordered carbonate water with fresh strawberry marmalade and after you finish the water you eating the fresh strawberries with the spoon and I miss that flavor so I made my fresh strawberry 🍓 marmalade which I go to the farm pick up my strawberry make my fresh marmalade and I make my fever drink, tried you will loved too 😍

If running down like my setup then drill 1.5 in hole in shelf and sit unit on top. If on same level or unable to drill then need to make a 1/4 in notch in back of unit to run hose out. Instead of using the$30 each for only 14 Oz I have a 5lb tank from my local Airgas dealer they have up to 180lb tanks my little 5lb is$25 refill if I got the 10 it’s$35 so each fill is about 6 disposable tanks. I know they have deposit but no one local does it and having to mail back and forth no thanks. Easy to hook up, just need large wrench 1-1/8 for the tank best to just get a decent adjustable one, but make sure you don’t tighten it with lose grip fittings are brass they will round off if you slip. I recommend the vise grip crescent wrench it don’t slip.
