I am a moderately capable DIY home maintenance person. My machine was starting to give out – making weird noises and smelling like burnt plastic. This was a pretty straight forward install and the only thing I would have liked to see included is some kind of hose clamp for the supply side. Hopefully I won’t need it, but I hated to put it back together without it. Breville wanted $170 for me to send it in for them to repair, so I saved $140 with this little part and now my machine works as good as new. This isn’t a knock against Breville – this is the best coffee maker I have ever had – on the contrary, one of the things that I love about this machine is that it can actually be repaired. I hate disposable machines that don’t last and can’t be fixed.

Edit: Original review below. New pump works great in my Gaggia Classic (circa 2003), Amazon swapped it out and after installation into my Gaggia it was easily pushing 15+ bar. I was able to adjust the OPV to drop it to the desired 9/9.5 bar and it’s working great. The flow out of the group head is a lot smoother now as well.
Original:
TL;DR It works, but I’ve dropped the star rating because the unit I put in seems to max out at 8 bar.
I swapped this into my old Gaggia Classic that previously had an Invensys pump in it. The new pump installation itself was straight forward, though I am currently operating without a thermal fuse as my old one doesn’t fit directly.
However, I went to calibrate pressure on my machine with my portafilter gauge and after tightening down the OPV all the way, I’m still seeing a maximum of 8 bar, which seems a far cry from the 15 bar max specified. I would expect this pump to be able to hit 10-12 bar with no issues, but it seems not to.

It fit the Breville model. Very happy that the espresso machine is working again. So far it’s been a month and no issues. 🤞

It looks like an exact match for the pump that was in our Barista Express 870xl. We replaced the old pump and solenoid block and now the coffee machine works like new again. Honestly I don’t know which old part was preventing the machine from working, but we’re happy.
