Outstanding stuffer! I just finished running about 150lbs of sausage through this stuffer with ZERO issues. I was hesitant to buy what seemed like an no-name brand build in China but after some research I found the main office is located in California with production overseas. Aside from the made in China, this unit is built like a tank. I fabricate aluminum and sheet steel – so I know a good weld and form job when I see it. The unit is constructed extremely well – welds are solid and you can tell they are done by hand. The forming of the base is also very solid with attention paid to the welds and finishing of the welds. The stainless 15lb meat canister is also perfectly formed with no visible defects. Long story short, the construction is SOLID. Better than the name brands out there (you know who they are, you’ve done the research). I’d put this up against the name brand stuffers any day.
A downside to this is the insane amount of machining oil that is on this unit. I took apart this whole unit to degrease it just so I felt safe running food through it. I’m glad I took it apart – I found that the gearing assembly is also very solid – BUT it does not have a reverse lock. What that means is don’t let go of the handle when you are stuffing because it will quickly spin the other way from the pressure. The rubber gasket is also very solid – not flimsy. If you do a lot of stuffing though I’d get an extra right away just as a spare.
During the stuffing process, there were NO issues. The air check valve worked perfectly. There was NO sausage that oozed up over the gasket. The high speed reverse works great (especially with how long the shaft is on the 15lb unit!). The stuffing tubes worked perfect for my brats, keilbasa, and sausage.
Thanks for bearing with this review. I don’t normally write reviews but felt compelled to by how hands down this unit beat out its name brand competition. I purchased the 15lb unit for $179 – the name brand stuffers in the same capacity are upwards of $300. Save yourself the money and get this unit!

I’ve used this for several big batches of sausage. About 60# run thru it.
What I like:
Large capacity. Very nice to have. Good gearing, simple wing nut to attach handle, all stainless steel, Nice air vent on plunger, lots of horns to choose from.
What I don’t like:
There are some sharpish edges on the back, the seal has to be removed from the plunger to clean (maybe all stuffers suffer this?), the nooks and crannies are hard to clean where the horn attaches. And the thing is darn tall. Shorter fatter may have been a better design criteria.
Overall, 4 star – Great value at the price point of $230. I was warned to buy a stuffer with bigger capacity because you’ll upgrade anyway, so I did and realize that is good advice. If they would grind and polish the rough edges coming out of manufacturing, this would be 5 star.

I really like this Sausages Stuffer. It saved me a lot of time and will really come in handy next year when we’re processing deer. I only did 5 lbs. of snack sticks this time, but it definitely is a lot faster than my LEM Jerky Cannon. I only gave it 4 stars because the base isn’t flat. I bought a used one earlier from Amazon. That base wasn’t flat either, so I sent that one back. I emailed the company and all they said was that it probably happened in shipping. No way! The box was in great shape the Styrofoam keeps the unit in place very well. So, I just put a piece of Velcro under one of the feet and it is stable on my counter top now. This shipped from Pennsylvania, but I don’t think the person that responded to my email was from the US.
It cleans up pretty easy and really is a well built machine. However, it does leave quite a bit of meat in the tube when all is done. I took out my LEM Jerky Cannon and finished it off. After getting done with the Jerky Cannon there was only about a teaspoon of meat left. Now that’s more like it! I bought a snack stick tube from LEM for my Jerky Cannon because it didn’t come with one. I was really happy to find out that it fist perfectly on the Hakka.
Another plus is having 2 speeds to crank with. I used the slow speed when filling the snack sticks, and the fast speed when cranking it back up. A real time saver.
Think I will make something so I can clamp the Hakka to the counter top. It is a little top heavy and does move around a little when cranking on it. Being clamped down will help to keep it more stable when using it, especially when doing it alone. All in all I am happy with the unit. My only complaint is the wobbly base.

I was concerned about how hard it would be to crank, but it takes minimal effort and I was able to make summer sausage by myself. You will need to remember that the handle will spin back on you when you release the handle due to the pressure on the cylinder.

What I mean is that it’s a tall narrow cylinder that is harder to get your hand down to pack your meat into to avoid air pockets. Also, the cylinder could be prone to denting because the material is a tad light. Otherwise I have had no problems with it and it functions as advertised.
