Its low quality and scratches very easy. Spend a bit more and get something that’s better quality

This is a large, flat sheet of metal with a handle. If you need to manipulate a pizza, it’s just as good a tool for that as any other large, flat sheet of metal with a handle.
However, the “folding” aspect of this product is absolutely terrible. The process for folding it as as follows:
1. Turn the large, clumsy thumbscrew while being quietly annoyed that it’s so large that there isn’t enough clearance between peel and the screw to have your fingers on it while turning it, so you need to turn it 1/4 turn at a time.
2. Realize that turning the large, clumsy thumbscrew isn’t actually doing anything, because the bolt that it’s threaded onto is also turning. You can thank Frank down in product design for that one. He saved them $0.002 per unit sold by eliminating a carriage bolt from the specification. Good job, Frank. Quality work.
3. Wedge your thumb onto the bolt head to keep it from turning while manipulating the large, clumsy thumb screw 1/4 turn at a time until the bolt loosens enough to allow the rabbet in the handle to clear the metal of the peel. Almost… almost… almost… Oops! You turned it 1/8 of a turn too far, and the bolt ran out of thread, and the the whole thing just came apart and crashed to the floor.
4. Pick the pieces up and reassemble them with the handle folded back over the peel. Manipulate the large, clumsy thumbscrew while wondering if an actual Earth human ever tried to use this thing. Perhaps it’s intended for telekinetic users, but that’s not mentioned anywhere in the documentation.
5. Put the folded peel into the cupboard. Well, to be fair, they do say “easy storage”, and that was pretty easy. The ease was more of a function of my cabinet hardware than anything inherent in the peel, though, so I’m not sure that they can take credit for that.
In short, while the Chef Pomodoro Aluminum Metal Pizza Peel is not complete garbage, it’s certainly suboptimal. It’s not bad enough to return, but I’ll be a little annoyed every time I use it, for the rest of my natural life.
I’d like to thank Chef Pomodoro for helpfully sending me an unsolicited, needy, attention-seeking email asking for me to validate their corporate insecurities with a review. Had I not received that message, I probably would not have bothered to write this review. Good job, guys!

It’s slightly bigger than a lot of the other peels out there and that’s a bonus.
It cleans easily by hand but I’ve been lazy a few times and washed it in the dishwasher which seems to have left some kind of residue on it. It doesn’t affect performance but it’s not as shiny as it was. But it’s aluminum so it shouldn’t take much more than 10-15 mins to polish it up again.
Anyway, it’s been a great tool to help me in my pizza making obsession.

Works great and if you have a smaller cabinet, the foldup handle is the best. Without the fold-up handle I would not have had a place to store this. The actual use of this is fine. What could be bad? It is metal and it slips under the pizza in the oven. Maybe you would be better served with a peel that had holes in it for the flour et al to slide out, but this seems fine.

Now I dont need to fear taking my pizza out of a very hot oven! It’s great if you have a pizza stone in the oven and already heated. Make the pizza on parchment paper and use the pizza peel to slide it under the parchment and place on the already heated pizza stone. I would be cautious not to put too much weight on the pizza peel by picking up the whole stone. I’m not sure it would be sturdy enough with that kind of weight or last, since it’s a screw attachment that holds the handle to the peel. I like that it’s easy to clean and not a big deal to loosen the screw and fold the handle around for easy storage. So far it’s working great!

The peel seems great for what it should do but the handle folding mechanism has a design fault. When you have the handle extended to use the peel it is fine and fits very well. There is a small rebate on the wooden handle which sits snugly around the metal part with the bolt and knob. See second picture.
When you fold the handle for storage, the rebate on the wooden part of the handle doesn’t fit snugly so over time this will round out and then when you extend the handle to use the peel it will be loose which is not good.
This was one of the more expensive peels I saw on Amazon and I bought it as I thought it would be better than some but the handle problem is disappointing.
We will sort it out but shouldn’t really have to.

Very easy to put together. Large enough for a good size medium pizza. Adding corn meal, makes the pizza just slide off with ease when cooking. So easy to slide under your cooked pizza. Perfect!

Love this pizza peel. We bake a lot and make home made pizzas. The peel is well made and conveniently folds down for easy storage. I think the best feature is the ridge near the handle which stops the pizza from sliding backwards and possibly off the peel . we used to slide our pizza off a cutting board into the oven which had unfortunate results a coupe times ..this peel is much easier.
