I bought this for hot fudge. Easy to use. Any item that claims it’s “dripless” is lying but this one is close. And what does drip, is easy to wipe off. Fudge is hard to dispense out of anything, but since this is glass, less than 10 seconds in microwave and perfect hot fudge easy comes out. Haven’t tried to clean the lid yet, but looks like it’ll be easy enough to get clean. Great buy!

I bought this for syrup. I have to wash the dispenser before every use because the pull dispenser is stuck shut.

We bought this dispenser for maple syrup, but it really didn’t work out. The bottle can’t hold a standard can of maple syrup (which is not that big of an issue), but the worse part is that the mechanism to open the bottle doesn’t work well (see photo) and gets all jammed up. This dispenser might work well for other liquids, but I don’t recommend it for maple syrup.

Not ergonomically designed. A bit awkward to use but easy to clean. I use it for pure maple syrup. Still looking for the perfect syrup dispenser. Drips a little after each use and the syrup dries and makes it difficult to slide open towards the end of the syrup.
Growing up we had a stainless steel syrup dispenser that was better design. The slider went down the handle, was easier to use and didn’t dribble and get crusty. Sad that redesign makes things worse not better. “You have one job make a syrup dispenser that works”.

Everything works as it should, you can put the entire container in a microwave and heat it.
Two minor things you’ll have an issue with:
•The lid gets stuck because of maple syrup stuck in the grooves of the lid and bottle. Hot water around the side of the lid for a minute or two will liberate that seized up lid.
•The lid and the component that closes over the opening when you pull the trigger on the bottle are definitely the cheaper side of plastic kitchen stuff.

I return the product since it was hard to open with arthritis in my thumb. I bought it thinking it would not drip with adding maple syrup. It did drip and I had to still wipe the container off.

In my ORIGINAL review:
I noted the plastic top seemed sturdy and was easy to clean. The sliding element worked well and did not leak. It was easy to slide, but might be problematic for severely arthritic persons; with mild arthritis, you should be able to slide it with no problem or pain. The gasket IS a separate element. It might come loose on cleaning, but it is sturdy, about 1/16″ thick, and is made of good silicone so it does not appear it will be as easily damaged as soft rubber (as you will find on metal-top dispensers, and it’s hard to find replacements for that). It snaps in relatively secure into the lid. If you don’t OVER tighten, it will stay secure too. When done, the glass jar is easily cleaned (in a dishwasher, if desired). I only washed the top with hot water and soap, I did not risk putting it in the dishwasher, no need for that.
I was using this for natural honey from our own hives (transferred from mason jars). It worked GREAT for honey, the flow runs well and it stops clean. My only complaint was that I wished it was 16-oz!
It remains SUPERIOR to the metal sliding top versions (which work great, until the soft rubber gasket gets damaged and fails… which happens after just a handful of uses). This product seemed like it would last for years without issue.
>> UPDATED:
It lasted 4 months, and then the slide mechanism became impossible to open. We tried soaking in boiling water to make sure it was clean inside, but that did not help. I finally snapped out the slide, and the metal “spring” (a piece of folded metal that slides into place and is similar to what you’d find in a battery compartment) broke. The interior was COMPLETELY clogged with either THICK, old honey OR some kind of lubricating gel. Hard to tell, it was almost like the consistency of silicone caulk. It was broken now anyway so I ran hot water over it and cleaned it out. The slide snaps back in place, but it no longer has that spring to keep it shut.
As another reviewer notes, THIS mechanism is its failure. It should be easier to remove and clean. I would recommend unsnapping that sliding top when cleaning. (It is just two little tabs holding it in place.) I am thinking the metal part broke under pressure of all that thick stuff and forcing the slide open. (It got extremely difficult to slide back over time.) HOWEVER, the tabs don’t look particularly strong, so it’s possible that will break it over time too. The problem is, unless you get that open, it is made to stay tight (to avoid leakage) that it really doesn’t get cleaned out, even when left to soak in boiling water.
Disappointed. I had great hopes for this as a long-term solution.
But once again, made cheap = low quality over the long run.

I’m one who always reads reviews so I was undecided about this one but once I got it it worked really well the top is plastic and bottom is glass . It’s easier for my kids to use . As far as the leaking I didn’t have that problem I would say it got sticky like any cap of the syrup would . But I recommend .

I use a lot of honey in recipies, marinades, etc., wanted something smaller than a large honey bottle to wrangle with. I luv this dispenser! It feels ergonomic to me and easy operation for measuring. Easy wipe to keep spout clean and it doesn’t get stuck onto the glass, so easy refill.
