This is our second thermometer in this line. The first lasted for several years and only required a couple battery changes. The tip eventually wore away, so we bought a new one. Accurate, easy to read even if I forget my glasses, easy to switch from F to C.

What can I say other than it does exactly what it says on the box. It gives quick and accurate readings within a few seconds and it seems well made so I expect it to last for a while.
As for things like delivery, this item was ordered via Amazon Prime so it arrived within the one day window.
Overall I am very happy with this and have already put it to good use.

Most useful when cooking meat. Even used it when baking a loaf of bread. Very pleased with its size and the slenderness of the piercing needle. I use it several times a week and still works well.

I had high hopes for this thermometer. It is unfortunately dead after 18 months, which is admittedly longer than the other thermometers I have bought. It seems well built, it read the temperature fine and it was easy to use. After 18 months of being washed though, it has given up, I can only think ‘Waterproof’ to the manufacturer means splash proof. To begin with the thermometer would not power on, so I changed the battery, it came back for a bit but then died again. Water had also got in to the screen most recently, despite being closed properly the battery plug must have let water through. For the money and the claim that it is waterproof, I cannot rate this thermometer as good value for money. I just want to find a thermometer that lasts for a reasonable amount of time, i.e years not just a year and a bit and can be washed without fear. So I am going to have to spend out more now which is better than having food poisoning. I would avoid this product if I were you as I cannot see why you would not get the same issues if the design hasn’t changed. I am now looking for an IPX6 rated thermometer.

For some reason, I find myself often needing to measure the temperature of various liquids and solids? How fast does my diet Pepsi cool in the freezer? How hot is the water coming out of my faucet? Interesting data has been gleaned from using this product. For example, in a top loading washer, the thermal mass of the metal and clothes in a top loading washer drops about 20 degrees from the 140 that is dispensed — leading to a 40 degree shortfall from a commercial washer. While useful for various fun tasks around the house, chefs will appreciate the vary rapid response of the pointed tip. The CDN is clearly superior to an inexpensive thermometer I previous purchased from Walmart.
In a laboratory setting, accuracy is important. While my needs are not that stringent, I did want to test within the limited resources at my disposal, including my IR thermometer. So, I test it along with the IR thermometer with three different liquids: 1)water/green tea cooling from boiling temp 2) Polmos rectified spirits – 96% alcohol from freezer 3) Olive oil heated in an oven. In order to somewhat scientific, I avoided ambient air movement and took measurements in a corner of room separate from any radiating heat. This conditions would NOT pass NIST standards but I tried anyway. Results below.
Conditions:
1) CDN was used to aggressively mix fluid so no surface temperature differences
2) Ambient light and air movement avoided
3) Insulating potholder used to rest glasses
4) Ambient temperature approximately 70-72 degrees
All results in Fahrenheit

As a Chef I demand only the best products to work with, and this is by far the best pocket thermometer I have ever used! I love that it doesn’t take me 20 seconds standing over my roasts, steaks, burgers, etc. to get a fast, accurate reading, cause I honestly don’t have time for that in a busy kitchen.
At first glance:
The thermometer is exactly as described by the manufacturer. The response time on this thermometer is honestly the best I’ve had the pleasure of using… in fact I’m pretty well convinced that it even matches the speed of those very large ones with the attached probe on a wire (now granted if you pay $300+ dollars you can get one that will give you the fastest most accurate read but for the money, best deal here)
I especially love the finer pointed tip on this thermometer that goes quickly, and easily into any protein that I need, no matter how tough, or thin the product is I get a perfect reading fast, so I’m never tied up waiting 30 seconds to get an accurate read out of my regular dial thermometer which you have to make sure you keep calibrated correctly, or the cheaper digital thermometers that just take longer (and the fact they have a much larger tip that DOES NOT like to go into products easily)… for a few extra bucks, SERIOUSLY BUY THIS!
The extra temperature range of this thermometer is also quite handy, if even for some reason i have to check the temperature of my deep fryer its still capable of handling, extra kudos for that.
And yes, it is waterproof, I have tested it. (again, extra kudos for that too)
Downsides (i think definitely outweigh the sheer advantages this product has over the competition)
-The large read out is great, not entirely that necessary to be that large though, or so i thought, kinda gets knocked around a bit, but the shatter proof design of the product compensates.
-The sheath that the thermometer comes in holds it great, and at that would never ever slide out, problem with that design is the clip on the plastic holder doesn’t hold tight to any clothing that you clip it too.. i find it actually useless (in fact I’m using a sheath from a prior thermometer)
-I have experienced a couple quirky problems but those totally corrected themselves with the proper re-seating of the battery, the waterproof design is a little tricky to get right.
So the downsides were the only reason this received a four star review and not a five, but its honestly the best thermometer I have ever used, and I’ve used them all.
I hope you find this review helpful in your search for a great product, I HIGHLY recommend this product to ANYONE, weather a professional in a busy kitchen to someone at home that enjoys cooking and hates the big ol’ metal ones that Gramma used for her turkeys, and wants to take the guess work out of cooking. This is a great product and I am Greatly satisfied with my purchase.
Thank You for reading.

I very rarely give reviews for personal reason, however in this case I felt compelled to.
I paid £18 for this very bad boy back in 2012 for my beer brewing. I also recently purchased a themapen 3 as back up. Anyway as far as accuracy is concerned I calibrated it at freezing point to be 0.3′ above and at boiling point 0.6′, below compared to the thermapen 3 of 0.1′ & 0.4′ respectively. A recent test showed anything up to 2′ differential in mid to upper ranges, between the two.
What is undeniable is that my CDN, the tulip is very slightly wilting to one side, through years of abuse, its found its way into the bottom of the mash tun, and a number of fermenting vessels on numerous occasions, certainly dropped from any height that a kitchen can offer. In short this is a very robust little fighter of a thermometer that comes back for more and more. Really hoping I can say the same for the thermapen 3 six years down the line, and at this price its a no brainer .
