This works well for cleaning cast iron pots, without damaging it. I liked the size but I felt it was a little pricey for what you get. I do not know how long the inner pad will last but it seems well made.
I would recommend this.

Where has this been all my life? Everybody that I know that has cast iron has got to have this. I didn’t want to buy it because it was expensive but I forced myself to make a leap of faith, and I’m glad I did. This is the best chain mail sponge/cleaner for cast-iron that I have ever experienced. 100% worth the money, this is going to last forever and is going to keep your cast-iron pristine. How did I ever live without it. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who has cast-iron you won’t regret it.

I thought this could be replacement for steel pad you can buy in the grocery. I found this chain mail scrubber is good at getting large, burnt-on grim off a pot/pan, but it does not leave me confident the pot/pan is clean. It does seem like it will hold-up for a very long time, much longer than a steel pad would hold up. I believe the purpose of this chain mail scrubber is just to get the caked-on junk off and to protect the seasoning/finish on a pan. The verdict is still out on whether it will be useful to me on not, but I have one other use for it and this is to clean the gas grill cast iron grates. If it can do that then it will worth its price.

Beats steel wool in effect… most anything else, too.
Use it in conjunction with The Barkeeper’s Friend. (Carbonic acid)
You’ll be astounded.

I wish I had purchased one of these many years ago. This product is heavy duty, far beyond my expectations.

Worth the overly expensive pricetag. Great for scraping labels off glass jars too

This scrubber is a must have if you own cast iron. The silicone shape in the inside gives it sturdiness to really go after stuck on gunk! Also, the shape and silicone keep me from rubbing my fingers raw while scrubbing.

I used this on a 12 inch lodge skillet that I bought new about 24 years ago. It had achieved the fabled non stick surface we cast iron users strive for. I used this lightly on a couple stubborn spots and it ate right through the seasoned surface. I used a plant based soap that I have always used on my cast iron without any problems, so it must have been this thing. But it did remove the stubborn stuck on bits very easily. Just be careful!

But it is overpriced.
