Everything was great until the phone stopped working 7 months after we got it. It wasn’t damaged in any way- it just wouldn’t turn on one day. Their only response was for us to buy a new one at $300+!

We have loved having this phone for our daughter. I love that I can set a schedule for when she can use which apps and then forget about it. I don’t have to worry about her playing games on her phone all night because there are no games on her phone at bedtime. My favorite feature is the ability to only allow people we trust to contact her on the phone, as well as only allowing her to contact people we trust. I will definitely be getting a pinwheel for my next child when he is ready for a phone.

I bought my phone through Pinwheels site and when I saw them here on Amazon I had to leave a review. This is a great phone especially protecting your kids from the dangers on the internet (porn) and social media. I still wanted him to have a game or 2 to play and this offered that. This is better then the Gabb phone because it has more approved apps and can use our family Amazon music account where the Gabb you have to buy their music service. So glad we made the switch to Pinwheel. Also their customer service is AMAZING. Gabb doesn’t even leave a number to call 🚩🚩. My son who is a bit older so I can trust him a bit more with the game apps. The best thing is you can approve the apps from the parents portal you don’t have to have them. Some approved apps they offer a variety pokemon and most importantly Adventures in Odyssey.I’d definitely buy the more expensive Samsung phone it works much better less glitchy and keeps service. We had many issues with this cheaper version Blu brand phone. If you can trust you kid with a more expensive phone I’d do it and buy the Samsung one.

We have had Pinwheel for 2 years for our 15 year old. We just upgraded his phone and purchased a second phone for our 12 year old. The phones are excellent quality with plenty of memory, great camera quality, and bright/clear graphics. We have had nothing but great experiences with customer service as well. But above all of that, the peace of mind knowing our boys are as safe as possible on their phones is the best thing about Pinwheel!

Hands down this is the best kids phone on the market and we’ve tried flip phones, Gabb, etc, Pinwheel looks like an iPhone and has everything a kid would need without social media, YouTube and a web browser and I can see everything through an app on my phone. Nothing for me to set up except the pre-configured schedule when he gets to use it. I have no worries about him getting places online he doesn’t belong. And we had the flexibility to use any carrier. The world would be a lot safer if all kids & teens had a Pinwheel.

I love the fact that it is a phone that can grow with your child. When we first got my DD a pinwheel phone, we talked about healthy habits and technology. Pinwheel had great advice on how to have these conversations. After a year of building good habits, during the summer her restrictions were opened up a little. I was pleased to see her making good choices of when to have her phone out and when she needed to put it up. We kept similar parameters for her this school year, and every month I get a report to let me know her app and messaging usage. This is great for me because I would get comfortable and more time would go by without me checking. I also love that certain apps are not even available on the phone, and it relieves pressure from her friends when she can just say “My phone won’t do that.” I am looking forward to letting the Pinwheel phone continue to grow with her allowing her more and more autonomy as she grows up.

PSA: Do Not buy a Pinwheel phone for your kids. Just don’t do it. We chose it over a Gabb phone for the additional safe apps it promised. And so our daughter could still stream her music and keep her same playlists. She had the phone for less than a year before it broke. Not dropped. No water damage. The dumb thing simply stopped working. After 11 months. Before that, it was glitchy, unresponsive, and all the so-called “safe” apps had to be removed, as they led to internet access.They have the WORST customer support ever! And they do not guarantee their phones. Not even for a year. They offered us 20% off to buy a replacement. That’s it. And that was after battling them for a long time that a broken phone is not “their responsibility” and we should “lower our expectations” on what they can do for us. So they finally offered 40 bucks…off a $200 phone! So if it continues to crap out each year, they’ll allow us to buy a new one for $160 a year. In fact, when you cancel your Pinwheel account, on the dropdown menu for why are you canceling, one of the options literally says: “Phone broke and you won’t replace it”. Which means this has happened before. Probably a lot.Such a frustrating situation! Save yourself the headache. Don’t buy Pinwheel.
