In a few weeks, I will be away from home and on own for 6 weeks getting radiation treatments, and I’m not a cook. So, I got this pot as something that should be very forgiving. While still at home, I have tried roasting nuts in it. Dry, just low heat for 2-3 hours. It works. The roasted pecans and walnuts are wonderful, and apparently easier to digest when roasted according to a nutrition expert.

I love the price, look, and size of this little appliance. However, it boils hard and fast, so the meat is not as tender as it should be – cooked too quickly.
Slow cookers are thus named because they are supposed to stay just below a boil. If I wanted to cook something fast by boiling it, I would use a pot and a burner. I would not leave this “slow” cooker on all night because it is too hot. Also, the lid is not a tight fit, and overnight it could go dry with the liquid escaping as the food boils away. Sorry folks – as cute as it is, the one I got is too fast to be called slow.
PS Because it is so darn cute – and just the right size for one-two people, one tiny dog and a smallish cat – I am going to try a second batch of ginger garlic beef – this time on “low” for the whole time. Will update with results.
So here is the update. I did a second batch on “low”, and it worked well. After a couple of hours, it went above simmer to a slight boil, so I turned it to “warm” – still boiled a bit, but OK. I think it can work OK to start on “high” to get things going, then reduce the heat. Meat was a bit dry, even though butter was added.
This little unit loses a star because it runs hotter than I’d prefer, and the lid is loose. Even with these imperfections, I would recommend.

My Dad used to use slow cookers. He made delicious, nutritious meals with it. I am a bachelor who eats healthy food, but typically only use stove top occasionally and microwave frequently. I have never used my oven; what a hassle! Now that I bought this, I’m sorry I didn’t buy one much sooner. Perfect for cooking small cuts of meat and vegetables; tender and ready to eat in 3-4 hours on the high setting. Read and follow instructions.

Put some soup or chili in before shift. Nice and warm for lunch. Easy clean. Minor negative, wish that it had another in-between heat setting. Not that big of an issue. Definitely a thumbs up.

I will come back and update review after I use it. Right now I just want to let people know this is good for one or two people. It holds 6 cups of water right up to the rim of the ceramic insert. That gives you about 4.5 to 5 cups of usable space for a simmer. I know the description does tell us how big it is – but I think knowing the dimension of the insert on the inside is 7.5 inches on the longest part, 6 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep is a good idea. I hope this helps anyone planning on buying it.

I’ve given this five stars because I’m aware that on Amazon anything lower is actually a bad review. That’s a generous score for this unit.
I bought this to wax bicycle chains. For those who have not found religion, that means (once) removing all grease from your chain, then tossing it in melted paraffin wax. You ride for hundreds of km and then just toss the chain back in the melted wax – any grit on the chain just melts and falls to the bottom and you pull out a fresh waxed chain.
The easiest way to do this is to have a dedicated cheap slow cooker that you simply leave the wax in
This worked. It takes longer to heat the wax then I’d have expected and seems to throw more heat off then id ideally like … but it works.

I live alone and it is wonderful to have a warm meal ready when I get home from work. And this little pot is the perfect size for one person or a couple. I use the small liners so a quick rinse and it is clean.

I knew it said 2 quarts but I didn’t expect it to be THIS little lol. It looks like a toy! Well, I could put 2 chicken legs in it for a small chicken noodle soup, I guess, and it’s good for 2 people or for one meal. No leftovers here! It’s small but I will keep it, just was so funny to me haha.

This slow cooker is a beautiful red color & nice oval style but it’s small.
The crock is removable so it can go right in the dishwasher.
It’s sized for a single person meal or a dip.
I ended up returning it due to the size.
