Perfect for vegetables, seafood, and eggs.
Especially eggs. I love boiled and deviled eggs, but peeling eggs might be my least favorite thing on earth. I don’t know how or why, but they peel so easily when you use this steamer.
Also, steamed vegetables taste amazing using this.

After about a month’s use, this Hamilton Beach Steamer is good but not perfect. Basically you need to do trial and error to find the perfect cooking times. The manual is fairly useless and the times listed are not always accurate. TIP! – Most of the time you add 4 cups of water into the reservoir but if you want to steam rice you also have to add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of rice into the rice steamer tray. Timing it so two items cook at once in two trays is a bit of a pain. Cleaning is somewhat easy however you should occasionally descale the steamer every few months. Warning! Hamilton Beach customer service in Canada the phone number doesn’t work. I wish the material was glass instead of plastic.

GREAT PRODUCT SO I GOT RID OF MY 20-YEAR OLD SINGLE-TIER STEAMER. VERY, VERY HAPPY WITH MY NEW HAMILTON=BEACH STEAMER!

I use this practically every day to make healthy, clean food. Whether it be chicken, fish or broccoli, brussels sprouts, and etc. it really does the job. The only gripe I have about it is when I cook chicken or fish. It’s a pain in the butt to clean the little plastic dishes that sit at the bottom to hold the food on. Other than that this thing is perfect for one person.

Bought this to steam rice and thereby freeing up my pressure cooker to make meals (used pressure cooker for rice … I don’t like stove top rice … then would use the pressure cooker again for our main meal, e.g. Curry … which meant letting it cool a bit then cleaning between cooking the two).
It’s easy to use and have had no issues with it.
Water does condense out of the steamer while it’s running and leaves water on the counter underneath it … which has generally been my experience with steamers like this one. I just put the streamer on a dish towel while cooking and that has seemed to address the problem.
I like being able to steam vegetables and rice at the same time … added bonus for me.
It’s a little too big for me and my wife as we only need to cook for two. This steamer will cook enough rice for 6+ people. I wanted a smaller unit, but as the smaller units were about the same price I opted for this one.
I work at home and my wife commutes … so I make meals. With this steamer and my pressure cooker, I can get a gourmet meal prepped, cooked, and on the table in about 25 minutes.
It’s been a very positive experience … spending less time cooking (= more time with my wife) and eating healthier.

I hate that it has neither fixed bottom. I could accept one for taller items even-though I never had reason for a second level with my 20 yr old single level one. I really bought the 2 tier for steaming rice along with the main dish.
It looks good and works well but all those loose parts is crazy.
I used it for the first time yesterday and it was a nightmare trying to empty the content of one layer without the bottom falling out and food going everywhere. It doesn’t make sense , having an unsecured bottom in both levels.
I hate that the loose parts seem so flimsy. Either bit of accidental pressure and I’m sure they’ll crack.
I do like the overall appearance of the machine , the water level indicator , its controls and yes , the ability to have two layers (one with a secured bottom.
I’d return this in a minute if I wasn’t pass the return deadline.
Much too awkward in this design.

It’s easy peasy and makes eating veggies more appealing. I’m still a newbie and learning.
