This is a very very good drone but if you take it outside it’s hard to use and the control is a little confusing but you get used to it but over all it’s a very very good drone I recommend if you’re a beginner

So this was a gift for my son, we took it outside the next day of getting the package, it connected to the Wi-Fi and everything easily, my husband was test flying it (because there’s so many features and little details to controlling it) the drone went so high and kept flying away from us! My husband tried pressing the home button and also with the joystick he tried bringing closer to us the more he tried doing that the more further away the drone kept going, and unfortunately we couldn’t see it on the camera anymore, camera froze on one spot, and the drone went past the trees and disappeared. We tried looking for it, (even went and asked neighbors if they could look in their backyards) but it was getting late and dark and it was long gone… my son was so sad, he had been requesting for a drone for months !!

My experience with the Holy Stone HS430 is great. It is great for kids with interests in flying drones, or anyone who likes flying around their neighborhood or house for fun. The camera quality is above average for its price. A big downside of the camera system is that there is no microphone. I had a cheap camera drone about 7 years ago that was purchased for $35, it had a microphone. The quality was terrible, to be expected, but the Holy Stone HS430’s great camera quality makes up for not having a mic. The other downside is that there is no SD slot. The drone connects to your phone or tablet, and photos & videos are recorded to your device, this is by no means a “professional” camera system, it is just meant for fun. If your kid does not have an Android phone or tablet, or an iPhone or iPad and plans on using the camera, I would look elsewhere. You can control the drone thru your device as well but it can’t beat using the actual controller. Flight time is great, with the 2 batteries included. Both batteries take around 2 hours to charge.
Overall this drone is a great starter drone for your kids or for people with no prior experience. I would definitely recommend Holy Stone’s lineup to beginners and enthusiasts.

I’m a new pilot and began with the HS210, which is a great “first drone” for learning the basics. I chose the HS430 as a step up because of its design that is so similar to more up-scale drones that I plan to move on to. The modular batteries of the HS430 are so much easier to attach and swap out than those of the HS210. The HS430 is also accomodating in that it can be flown indoors. That’s especially important to me when the weather outside otherwise prohibits flying. Best of all, it is fully capable of outdoor flight when the weather is calm. I’m sol on Holy Stone drones for their quality and more importantly, their customer service.

Update Dec22:
After the fly away I contacted Holy Stone customer service and chatted with Frank. After a few standard questions about the drone and flying conditions, Frank determined that the drone was at fault and covered by warranty.
A new drone has been sent, no problem at all

I just got this yesterday. Strictly followed all instructions in the manual.
Tried to fly inside but the drone drifted so heavily to the left that there was no time to calibrate it before it hit a wall. Tried and tried, but it would hit a wall before it could be calibrated for drift. Always slow speed, never used fast.
Took it outside this morning, perfect weather, no wind. Again tired to calibrate for leftward drift but it just kept drifting. Would also randomly lunge forward are back, sometimes diagonal. Finally it ended up flying off out of the yard, across the trees and out of range. Never to be seen again. What a waste of money.
I have a bigger DJI drone that works just fine, of course. I bought the Holy Stone as a fun little drone to fly inside and practice with. But it made a very fast escape, deciding to disappear like a stray dog once it got outside. . I barely got to fly it – maybe 3 minutes of struggling with it.
Be very careful! If yours has a strong drift in any direction, DON’T take it outside. Maybe it will never fly right, but at least it won’t disappear.

Good indoors for beginners because of small size, having 3 batteries helps tremendously with flight times. Stability could use some improvement, tends to drift off when hovering even after trying to trim drone, ya gotta keep your eye on it.

I was so excited that this was my first drone. I flew it twice for about 5 minutes. Then on the 3rd flight it was going great until it took off and landed God knows where. Searched for the drone for four days and never did find it. I’m heartbroken and out $55.00
