This is a great and solid knife. It is hefty and you feel the weight. I own a SOG Flashback and it’s extremely quick and you can feel the power of the spring, in this Gerber the blade isn’t under extreme pressure but is quick still. When you open the knife up the blade makes a very distinct sound that I find very unique and threatening if on the other end of it. I bought this knife because I also own the Gerber 06 Automatic and to be how honest it’s hard to tell speed of the blade between the two. Only difference in the Auto is that it is very smooth and quiet. Additionally this knife also has a spike at the rear end of the knife which should come in handy to break windows, and other heavy objects. One thing I wish they would improve is to make the thumb safety/blade release button more aggressive so you can engage it easier especially if wearing gloves. The open assist thumb stud to me is a little low but that is a personal preference depending on hand size.Overall if you are looking for a everyday carry that is heavy duty and reliable look no further and for the price it can’t be beat.

I really liked this knife when I first got it. Pro: It was my first spring assisted blade and I really enjoyed it. Fast to open, with practice you can operate with only one hand (open and close), I like the feel in the hand and in the pocket with the provided clip, and I like the construction of the handle. Very sturdy and has good texture to keep it secure in the hand.Con: Steel did not keep much of an edge. Too much of the edge is wasted on serration (I know this is easily discernible from the picture but in the field I only used the serrated section once. Usually it just got in the way). Too much play in the blade. Others have mentioned this in their reviews. But even after tightened there was a little play and it seemed to get loose pretty easily. But the thing that really bothered me is that the spring (as in the one that assists in opening) broke. And since that happened, the lock does not stay engaged either (I assume that they are connected). So now this thing is going in the trash. The blade literally just flops back and fourth. I do not even trust it to use as a tool in the always open position because the lock is unreliable. Long story short, save your money, and buy a better knife. I thought Gerber was good quality. At least they seemed to be when I was growing up. But I will probably not own another one. Life expectancy should be more than a year an a half. EDC tools should be more reliable. My EDC of choice now is a Spyderco Endura 4 Wave that I also bought from Amazon. Will post a detailed review of that soon.

Ive only had this knife for a few hours but its put it through a common knife test i do; cutting an aluminum can perfectly in half, and the edge seems unscathed. I honestly would say in over-all quality, this is the best knife ive ever had (though im only 22). I feel this could be the best knife in the world (in a price/quality ratio) as crazy as a statement that is. Natuarlly anyone could find a problem with anything but being a practical guy i feel this is amazing. As for the minor/minuscule flaws;-Not made in America, frankly a disgrace for Gerber considering they provide knives and tools for the military. I would’ve paid more for this knife if it was.-Locking mechanism is a bit awkward, seems to fluctuate in its ease and tension (brand new)-Big, very big. Remember this is a manly mans everyday knife and not something a average person should carry, though i love the fact they pushed the legal concealed carry limit which means its one of the most intimidating, legal, self defense knives out in the market that still holds quality and durability-Andrew Peterson.Overall this knife is amazing though i feel the flaws are not noteworthy i think you should know what your getting into.

Good knife when picked up at a good price. I have 2 and purchased them for $36 each. For $36, this knife is a quality buy and I use for my range bag and have one in a ready/go bag. If I would have purchased for the higher price I see sometimes, $50+, I would have probably gave 3 stars. The safety locking mechanism seems to be cheaply made, it is a slide type and has play when in locked/unlocked position. I read that in other reviews as well, but I really liked the knife design. The blade deploys slower than I anticipated as well. Even with these negative features I did purchase another one after the fact. The key is to watch and get at a good price.

Solid knife no woble or blade play. Locks blade in place very well. Blade keeps a pretty good edge and sharpens up nice. Pocket clip is very sturdy and will last the test of time. G10 handle is awesome nice grip, fills out of our hand well not small, tiny and thin so your hand slips. The only con’s I can say about the knife is the metal could be a Little bit better grade of steal and the spring assist could be a little bit stronger so it pops open faster with less effort. But in no way am I saying this is a bad knife just room for improvment and is a good intermediate Knife choice kind of in between TAC Force and SOG. Would recommend to friend.

This was a bit more than I expected. I am used to assisted openers, but this one is a bit different. The assist is so efficient that it opens with the same speed as an auto. That being said, I noticed that the blade was rather sharp. This is not what I am used to with Gerber knives. I had come to the conclusion that if it was a Gerber, it needed to be sharpened a bit more for my preference. This one was great right out of the box. I also like the thin profile the knife has, as it can fit in a pocket nicely, and even better if the clip is removed.

Got this knife as a light duty edc, I’ve got other knives that I can beat the hell out of. This knife suits my needs perfectly. It’s well built, springs out nice and is built overall very sturdy. It is a scary looking knife, which some might not consider that a good thing, but I prefer my knives to look scary for Tactical reasons. I love it, but as my needs aren’t what others might want out of the knife I will give it 4 stars
