The build quality is apparent once you wrap your hand around this knife. The blade is the preference thickness for me as an EDC. Will no doubt do what I need it to do. It’s very sturdy and well made. The handle is very very comfortable and the jimping is great, not too aggressive yet keeps my hand and thumb secure. One of my favorite knives so far. The action is smooth and the compression lock works great. Keep in mind when you disengage the compression lock and swing the blade closed you will feel a push on the finger used to decompress the lock. Not a big deal but it’s there. The grip is smooth and feels premium. I love this knife.

Got this knife for my husband for his birthday. All he had to do was adjust the pivot point of the blade by such a teensy amount so he could open and close it fully with just a flick of the wrist.

I’ve owned three of these and this is the last one I’ll own. They’ve become much too expensive. It’s an old design and the materials haven’t advanced in the basic models. The sprint runs come in worthwhile steels, but Spyderco’s S30v leaves a lot to be desired.

This knife is the right size. Not too big not too small. The serrated edge is wickedly sharp. I haven’t had to sharpen it yet but I have a few other serrated knives that I sharpen no problem so should be fine. The lock is also very sturdy so I have complete confidence it won’t fail. That being said there are a couple of issues with it. First, mine came with the tip not machines down right so if you are looking at it from the top, the tip seems to jet off to the right about 2 mm. I tried to get a pic with my phone but it won’t focus all that well. In person the machining issue is very apparent. Imo this lapse in QC is inexcusable. Spyderco is usually really good but this one is a fail. That being said it still cuts and the tip is still sharp. Next, the spydie hole is sharp. A little machining would have been nice especially for the price. Companies like Kizer and civivi are arguably offering higher quality better machine products for less. Last has to do with the design of the knife. When closed the tang of the blade nets out of the lock area of the knife. It’s not a huge deal but if you close the knife by pinching the lock and flicking the blade down the tang will hit your finger and the knife won’t close. It’s a small thing but it’s annoying.Overall I like the knife but it due to the first two shortcomings it isn’t my first choice for edc. I usually go with the Para 3 LW or Microtech Ultratech and then this knife.

In the last couple of years this knife has been extremely hard to find from most popular dealers. So i was hesitant to by this from Amazon, in fear that it was a fake. However the knife i received from Copper and Cladd was legitimate. With that being said, the current price listings are reflective of scarcity not the material. In normal production times the price of this knife was anywhere from $150 to $180. The current listings of $240+ may be worth it for some and not for others. There are plenty of professional reviews all over the internetfor this knife; but here is a random shmucks experience so far. The knife itself is excellent. The smoothe contoured G10 handles feel great in the hand and in the pocket. It did come with a very strong detent; but a week of use and fidgit opening and closing smoothed it out. The slightly thicker blade stock (compared to the Spyderco PM2), leaf shaped blade, and flat grind makes for a more durable blade, blade tip, and makes cutting a joy. The ergonomics of the handle feel good for my hand size (smaller side of average for a guy). The only modification I required to fit my personal preference was to change out the normal spyderco clip to a deep carry. Overall, a great every day carry knife.
