I upgraded from a 20+ year old round dehydrator, so this was AMAZING!! The trays are large squares, so I got a lot more done each batch. Cleanup was easy…fit a few trays in my dishwasher at a time. Since the fan is at the back, it did sweat a bit on my hardwood floor, so I just solved that by placing the unit on a towel. My favorite feature is the automatic timer and shut off! No more getting up in the middle of the night to unplug the dryer! 🤭
I got this late in the season, ran 3 full batches, and wished I had more to do! It’s too big to leave on a counter, but I hate to pack it away! Can’t wait to get it out next year.👍

I bought this dehydrator to try out because I want to dry morels next spring. It has been easy to use and I have dried store bought mushrooms of varying kinds with good success. Tt takes a bit longer to dry them than the instructions say, but so far, I have had no mold develop. I have also dried an overabundance of tomatoes from my garden. The taste is quite good. I am pleased overall with the performance of the item. The only drawback I see is that the temperature is not able to be preset a suggested number–it advances by increments so the closest I can get to 115 degrees is 113 degrees, e.g., or to 150 degrees the closest is 143 degrees.

For those who care to read this review – this is the dehydrator you are looking for if you plan to keep it for many years to come. Here are some of the reasons why:
1. We researched. A Lot. We currently freezedry food from our garden, but have been lacking that dehydrator capability for raisins, jerky, etc. We compared dozens of models in “suitable” price range – $100-400 here, on Amazon and Septree model stacked quite high on the list.
2. The programming/temperature read is in somewhat odd place to be able to see and utilize if dehydrator is placed higher than chest level. But there is a reason for it – that whole back sections can unclip for easy maintenance of actual electrical components. It’s very easy to service if something goes wrong. Many models are built with parts within units and some serious disassembly is required to fix them (motor, heating element, etc). This model, however, has clips on each side to remove it. That means that Septree can send a whole back part to their customer with easy swap – my cat can do it. Hope that makes sense.
3. The unit performs really well. Yes, it does require patience and time to dry organic matter. We see a lot of comments from people disappointed with performance and how they want almost instantly the results. Just a reminder for such folks – even freezedrying requires time and at times will take 3 days to dehydrate “watery” fruits as well. With this unit – we have made outstanding seedless raisins from our mini-orchard (30 plants). Soon we plan to cure some lamb and run a portion of it to make jerky.
4. The unit has “rails” at the bottom (outside). It helps to keep the dehydrator off the surface and we can tell that the unit was thoroughly thought through when designed.
5. 1k watts of energy use means a typical residential outlet. There is no power surge or anything to be concerned safety-wise. However, We keep our unit about 6 inches away from the drywall (in our garage) and it vents out from the front grill of the door. No access of heat observed at the bottom or sides or back during operation. Functions very well. Motor noise is very quite – pleasant humming.
6. CUSTOMER SUPPORT! We had to contact Septree customer support due to some issues with rails that support the trays. They were very prompt in their communication and assured (professionally) of being aware of our concerns. Almost instantly new shipment was sent from China with a tracking number. Perhaps 4 days maximum – we received a perfectly-packaged box with “we are very sorry for our mistake” note. New parts fit perfectly and we were good to go.
7. We plan to keep this machine for as long as it lasts. Septree appears to care about their brand and supporting their customers. We can tell – they want us to be happy with their product. And our experience with them has been outstanding.
8. It’s built like a TANK. That semi-industrial (utility) look. We get a lot of compliments.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! A+

I wore out my old dehydrator and found this “Excalibur knockoff” at a much better price.
Pros:
1. Even heat throughout top to bottom, left to right, front to back. My old one required several tray rotations
2. Relatively quiet operation from improved fan blade design
3. Easy menu for accurate (measured with thermometer) and flexible temp & time settings
4. Able to close and open lid with messy hands (from slicing fruit). I could close lid temporarily without latching for loading and then securely latch when done
5. The latch works well and helps reduce vibration from the door
6. Solid metal construction and the metal trays are SQUARE (not rectangle) so it doesn’t matter which way they go in
7. All trays are fine mesh (1/4″ or so) and keep small pieces from falling through as well as allow airflow.
Cons:
Cant think of any at this time. My last one lasted 10 years, so we’ll see how well this one does

SO – in the last 2 weeks i have dehydrated literally over 60lbs of Cherry Tomatoes – this unit took it all like a CHAMP running 24hr cycles back-to-back.
The amount of room in this thing is INSANE compared to our 2 old plastic-tray, top-motor units, heat is relatively even, even with all trays loaded (although it does speed things up to rotate trays about halfway through a cycle) … Unit DOES get pretty warm to the touch, not “burn You” hot but yeah, using gloves to remove hot trays is a good idea.
Seems to really do it’s best work at around 160-180deg, Temp is within 2deg at all settings using an oven thermometer.
Herbs, Tomatoes, Apples, Peppers – does it ALL at a fast pace and HUGE capacity, where has this thing BEEN all my life ?!?!?!
Seriously, this is a DEFINITE “must have” if You are into dehydrating in bulk.

I bought this and it came with a big dent in the front. Obviously dropped on something during shipping/handling. The company quickly responded to my contact and immediately sent a replacement. I’ve used it to dehydrate almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, apples, strawberries and kiwi. It does a great job and is not loud. Be advised: it is heavy and is definitely commercial grade. It’s very easy to clean inside and out. It’s more expensive than the plastic ones which I’ve used before. This one dehydrates much more evenly. Very pleased with purchase. Highly recommend.
